A State of the Art System
Our Flow Totalizer system features a sealed corrosion resistant stainless steel case and microprocessor design. Multi-product capability (up to 10), multi-meter capability (up to 4), built-in flow rate function, and K-factor calculation are standard features. A remote printer option is available for line printers up to 400 feet away.
Our flow totalizer systems are available through The McGregor Company.
The Turbine Flow Meter (TFM) contains a freely suspended turbine rotor spinning in the fluid stream. A magnetic pick-up senses the passage of each rotor blade through its field and outputs a pulse to the totalizer. The totalizer then translates the pulses into gallons according to the preset scale factor, or K-factor.
The K-factor is determined ahead of time by use of the built in AUTOCALC feature. This feature counts the number of blades that pass through the sensor's field while a gallon of liquid passes through the TFM. These K-factors are stored in the totalizer's memory and retrieved when the appropriate product is selected.
The totalizer retains and displays the total gallon count, and has a capacitor backup to retain the count if power loss occurs. The count can only be reset through the totalizer interface.
